When plans remain as plans

I miss blogging. I miss putting my heart into words and let online passerby steal a piece of me every time they read it.

Yes, I know. I finally make it. I got paid as a writer and I have the most awesome job in the world.

But then through this job, I keep on telling other people’s stories, hoping somebody and somewhere would left inspired at the end of the line.

When will I have the chance to tell my story? It has been so long since I jot down my thoughts in my journal. Nowadays, my ink-stained right hand was a result of jotting down notes during an interview, not writing in a diary.

This Lent season, I planned to go back to the basics; to read the bible and say the rosary.

But the plans remained as plans. No execution yet on my side.

A lot of things as well I plan to do for this 2016, to reconnect with people I have lost in contacts to volunteer my time to help others.

Again the plans remained as plans.

It is OK that Jesus does not always fill your void

I read something today that really struck me.

Jesus Doesn’t Always Fill Your Emptiness — and Why That’s Okay by Therese Aaker

My takeaway message was this,

Just be. This is THE hardest thing to do. To just be in the emptiness, not running away from it, not trying to fix it or fill it. Letting Him love you and do the work He wants to do in you. In the meantime, you can reflect within yourself:  What is Christ trying to teach me during this period of emptiness? How does Christ want me to grow from this experience?

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Sacred Heard of Jesus, with all its LOVE, all its SUFFERINGS and all its MERITS.

First – To expiate all the sins I have commited this day and during all my life. Glory be to the Father…..!

Second – To purify the good I ought to have done, and that I have neglected this day and during all my life. Glory be to the Father…..!

Third – To supply for the good I ought to have done, and that I have neglected this day and during all my life. Glory be to the Father…..!

A Poor Clare nun, who had just died, appeared to her abbess, who was praying for her, and said to her, ”I went straight to heaven, for, by means, of this prayer, recited every evening, I paid my debts.”

(This is prayer is NOT meant to replace confession.)

Suicidal Thoughts

I had suicidal thoughts yesterday’s morning.

I almost jump off from the flat I was staying.

I didn’t care if I was going to hell.

I didn’t care if Jesus loves me.

I didn’t even think about God.

I only thought of my parents.

How much it would break their hearts if I took that jump.

So I want to thank Him.

For giving me them.

The Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Gertrude the Great

Hail Mary, White Lily of the Glorious and always serene Trinity.

Hail briliant Rose of the Garden of heavenly delights:

Oh you, by whom God wanted to be born and by whose milk the King of heaven wanted to be nourished! Nourish our souls with effusions of divine grace. Amen!

At the hour when the soul which has thus greeted me quits the body I’ll appear to them in such splendid beauty that they’ll taste, to their great consolation, something of the joys of paradise.

They Aren’t What They Used To Be

I just finished reading this truthful article; a good reminder for the rest of us about how prayers are not like they used to be.

I had a reflection days ago on how selfish our prayers have become.

It all began when I saw a posting on Facebook read “O God, please help our sisters and brothers in Christ in Kelantan”.

Months ago, Kelantan – a state in Peninsular Malaysia was hit by a big flood and it is a predominantly Muslim area.

The posting disturbed me. Why? So only the Christians need the prayer? What happen for those who don’t believe in Christ?

It was already bad enough that they couldnt pray for themselves (they dont believe in Christ) and here we are the so-called Christians couldnt be bother to pray for them.

Since when our prayers became so selfish?

In this article written by Msgr. Charles Pope, it had few critical points on how our prayer had changed.

Prayers used to look to God and long for heaven. More commonly today, even when they look to God, they speak more of this earth and ask God to make it more comfortable.

Now, of course it is not wrong to pray for any of the things above. But it is the silence about heavenly things that most concerns me. Do we ever long to be with God? Do we long for heaven or even talk about it much today? When was the last time you heard a reference to heaven in a prayer (except at a funeral when we should probably focus more on purgatory). Or when was the last time heaven was the topic of a conversation, let alone a sermon?

You Don’t Need That

At the age of social media, a lot of information are being passed around.

One of those viral information is the signs of the second coming of Jesus were reported in all over the world.

Personally, I don’t think we need these signs to turn from our sinful ways.

We should repent from our sins because we love Him, we could not live without Him. With or without these signs.

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment. (New Living Translation).

I do not have the right to judge them. Nor I have the intentions to do so.

All I can say, if we are truly followers of Christ we should love them transgender and all.

This article written by Marty Duren says it all.

We have no option but to love those so affected, so afflicted and so decided. There are among the gender confused and the gender reassigned future children of God through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Whatever it is Caitlyn Jenner seeks no amount of surgery, hormones or editing of a Wikipedia page will bring it. Joy comes from the One who made us to find joy in Himself.

Pre-Marriage Course

Hello there, it has been quite sometimes since I wrote something personal on this blog. So here goes.

What is my latest update?

I’m going for pre-marriage course next two weekends here in Archdiocese of Kuching. My parents have been bugging me about wedding dates and so on. Personally, I just feel that I need to go through pre-marriage course first then I think of other things like wedding reception, guests list and the whole enchilada.

Marriage for me is a sacrament. I often told my friend that if I weren’t a practicing Catholic, I totally go for a domestic partnership. Yeah, some controversial statement that worthy of slap on the back of my head from my parents.

But who cares, that is my personal thought and opinion. Marriage is not just about the union of two people, two families or legal acts surrounding it.

It is first and foremost, a sacrament. And whatever comes after that, I’ll think about it later.
